It's all about time

April showers came a little early but luckily I was indoors. I sit and ponder the work that is done, the work that is yet to do and the work that will most probably never get done. I can always hope that I will find the time to do everything I want to do but I guess the only thing I can hope for is time.
At some point soon I think I shall root through my writings in my file and see if there is anything I can put fresh eyes too - I need something to hand in still for my portfolio.

The Mystery Illness

Apologies for not updating sooner but the mystery illness has taken its tole once more. SO many hospital departments and SO many episodes of illness I've lost count. I remember a few months back, by partners piano teacher found an article in readers digest and wondered if it would be a diagnosis but like so many other doctors and people in my life, the idea they had failed. Not their fault of course its just frustrating.

I've been pretty much bed bound since 1.44am Wednesday morning when I had my 'fit' and today is the first day I actually got dressed and did some dishes which has knackered me out completely. That and going to the doctors this morning for my ear and my swollen tongue (bitten on left side due to fit) Yuk! It means I cant eat most foods but the mouthwash stuff they gave me helps a little.

Other than all that I managed to finish my version of The three bears and now at the end the old landlady that breaks in gets eaten by her tenants for eating their meatloaf out the fridge, which coincidently is the remains of the last person who broke in. I managed to do the presentation diagram to go with it and just need to remember to print it if I'm well enough to go into uni on Monday

I'm sitting here now considering what genre to write my other story for the module in. I'm not very good with horror though creepy I can kinda do. Romance is so typical and predictable and I fail at comedy because no one gets my sense of humour. hmm.

Anyway feel free to leave comments or ideas. hope all is well with everyone out there in the world.

There's not much to say about today, although the weather has been breezy but warm and I wore my sunglasses for the first time this year although I did get some weird looks on the way to uni. I finally obtained the book 'the seven basic plots' by Christopher Booker today after having it on reserve for about 2 weeks. I'm hoping to get some good points out of it concerning the number 3 in fairy tales and such. Hopefully I'll have something more interesting to say soon but for now, I think I need to rest x

Word counts

Right well today I have reviewed all my deadlines and word counts for this semester at uni. As far as I know I have 2 deadlines. The 27th of April for my creative writing modules and the 5th of May for my English modules. Even though I am doing a single Honours in Creative Writing I do English modules to make up my credits and also it gives me a chance to do stuff I missed out on during A Level because my sixth form was not up to standard in my opinion. Anyway I've come up with a plan to get everything done and in on time.

Module 1: 2500 word portfolio and editing report
Module 2: 2500 word Portfolio
Module 3: 3000 word Essay x 2 (English)
Module 4: 1750 word Essay x 1 (English)

Wk 1 - 15-21 March Module 2 - The fairy story research and creation of modern telling
Wk 2 - 22-28 March Module 3 - Essay of 2000 words on two pieces of literature
Wk 3 - 29 - 4 April Module 1 - Short story (original concept) with report
Wk 4 - 5 - 11 April Module 3 - Essay of 1000 words on one piece of literature
Wk 5 - 12 - 18 April Module 4 - Essay on American autobiography 1750 words
Wk 6 - 19-25 April Module 2 - Short genre based story with a twist

After this the ones needed for the 27th will be edited and handed in and the others will be finalised for the week after. Obviously I wont be sticking to one subject a week and things will dip in and out but this is the basic plan.

Fingers crossed for me guys, If and when I am writing for a publisher, deadlines and word counts will be a big part of what I am doing so I gotta get used to it.

P.s I've put a survey up on the home page for you guys to answer, purely out of curiosity really but I would like to know the answers so if you could spare a few seconds I would be grateful x

Only 7 weeks to go before summer begins. The weekend is drawing to a close and I feel tired, strained. I've done the editing report for tomorrow and started to re-tell 'The three bears'.
I've managed to make a To Do list for next week and I am currently waiting for my Fish and Chips to be cooked. I'm watching Jumanji and my eyes are begging to be closed. Not long now and the wonderful Monday morning will be upon me
