I have ideas for stories and they are fully developed in my head, what will happen, how things will conclude, but when I come to write them Its like half the substance falls out of my head in the process. It looses its spark that lit up my eyes when I thought of it. Often it is the word count that screws me up - running out of words literally to develop the idea. Over the summer I am going to take the half baked ideas and turn them into something with substance - and that's a promise.
Much like the flu, writers block has many initial stages, things like unlocking the ideas from your head, getting words onto the page and actually finding the will and the concentration to sit down and write even if it is free writing. Words need breathing space much like we do and time to relax and develop and run their course, do you agree?
I don't know who reads these things besides me and my partner (because he's curious) but If you do, I would really appreciate your input...a writer can by no means do it all alone, even though to some it is an isolated career choice.
On a positive note, the sun is shining something beautiful today and the heat is streaming onto my keyboard as I type making me all warm and tingly. I am going to play pool today with a friend who I have an arrangement with every few weeks, usually involving whooping each other with the balls followed by the looser treating lunch or going Dutch. We shall see how today develops.
